Humans of New York features photos of interesting people with stories to tell. On Wednesday, the viral account posted the story of a 90-year-old woman who is living life to the fullest.
And people loved it.
The unnamed Russian woman claims that she feel’s like she’s 40 years younger than her true age. That’s in part thanks to her refreshing attitude.
“I never complain,” the Facebook caption says. “I’m just happy to be alive.”
Her sage advice for people is to “start with what you have, not with what you want.” She prides herself on being “really interesting too,” adding that she loves politics, literature, the sciences, and dancing, which she says she does for two hours each day.
The woman doesn’t offer dating advice, but she did mention that she has a boyfriend named Alexander who she exchanges books with — and she doesn’t even know his age.
So far, the post has received over 500,000 likes and 17,000 comments. It seems her story is really resonating with people.
“#LifeGoals who cares about age when you can exchange books,” one commenter wrote. “I don’t even know you, ma’am, but you’re one of my heroes,” another said. “She’s a baller. I just figured out what I want to be when I grow up. And it’s her,” someone else commented.
The woman is living proof that age is just a number and that you can still live it up at any age.

“I’m ninety but I feel like I’m fifty. I don’t take any medicine. I never complain. I’m just happy to be alive. I tell people: ‘Start with what you have, not with what you want.’ Every day I dance for two hours. And I’m still really interesting too. I love politics and literature. I love the sciences. And I’ve got a boyfriend named Alexander. We exchange books. I don’t even know how old he is.”
